New Pathways to the Future Scholarship Provided by the McElwains!
Mike McElwain graduated from Whiteland Community High School in 1969. He played football, basketball, and track while a student at the high school. He graduated from Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and served 43 years with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. Donna Esteb McElwain graduated from Whiteland Community High School in 1971. She was a member of the marching band. She graduated from Indiana Central College (now University of Indianapolis) with a major in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years at Riley and St. Vincent Hospitals. Donna said, "We are both proud to be associated with the Whiteland Community High School Alumni Association. We are very grateful for the opportunities that were given to us while students at WCHS and wish to provide scholarships to students pursuing a career in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or Nursing." The McElwains are taking over one of the 6 Pathways to the Future Scholarships given out each year by The Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation. These are a $1,000 a year for 4 years renewable scholarships. Currently, the Doub Family and Jerry Lasiter have a named scholarship with the Pathways Scholarships as well. Donations can be made to this scholarship with link below. The application is open to those graduating in the WCHS Class of 2025 and the first scholarship will be given out this May.
FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN! The Jerry Lasiter Scholarship
Jerry Lasiter, an honorary graduate of the 1967 class from Whiteland Community High School, is a super-fan of The Warriors. Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation would like to honor Jerry and his love and commitment to this community with a scholarship in his name. We are going to take over one of our Pathways to the Future 4-year renewable scholarships and name it in his honor. This scholarship will still have the same basic requirements as it had before, but we are adding that it will give special consideration to those applying who are going into special education, has had an IEP through their school career, or is active in the community. In order to fully fund this scholarship for perpetuity, we need to raise $100,000.00. Help us honor Jerry by giving to this campaign so that we can create a lasting legacy for him here at Clark-Pleasant Community Schools.

CPEF was proud to give $10,000 to STEM classes this fall. Each elementary school was given $1,000 and the High School and the Middle School each received $2,000. This was made possible through the generosity of Endress + Hauser.
